Copper Mugs & Moscow Mule – Oh My!!

CopperMugsHeader

You all know I love to cook and sometimes bake…. but I also really love experimenting with new cocktail ideas! This past summer, I put together a signature drink called The Zingria, which is filled with strawberries, Yellow Tail Red Moscato Bubbles, and St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur. Yum!

Still, one of my favourites drinks has always been the Moscow Mule because of the crisp, spicy ginger beer that makes up the base. Traditionally, it’s made with Vodka but I’m personally partial to Gin. When Copper Cure reached out and asked me to review their copper mugs – which are popularly used to serve this drink in order to keep the beverage cool – I took it as a challenge to develop my own Moscow Mule recipes. I will say, this is the most fun I’ve had putting a blog post together 😉

But First, The Moscow Mule Mugs

Did you know that copper mugs have a number of health benefits? It’s true! Even drinking water from these mugs can help reduce inflammation, boost brain function, and improve digestion. But there are so many on the market and if you’re going to make the investment, be sure to pick a product that is made with both quality and craftsmanship in mind.

Pure Copper Mugs by Copper Cure

I received this set of Pure Copper Mugs from Copper Cure and what I love most about them is that they have a nice weight and feel solid in my hands. The perfect fit. There’s also really nothing better to keep your drink cold for a truly refreshing, frosty drinking experience. Also, Copper Cure mugs are made from 100% pure, recycled copper. You can even recycle them once you’re done with them because copper is infinitely recyclable.

The Moscow Mule Recipes

Starting with fresh ingredients when cooking will surely give you the best results and creating cocktails is no exception. But once I got started, there was no way I could do just one recipe! So here are three to get your taste buds watering.

When one has pomegranates, one used them often! Add in the taste of lemon and you have flavours that will literally sing in your mouth.

Pomegranate Lemon Mule

Pomegranate Lemon Mule

When fresh pomegranates are in season, I add them to everything so it's no surprise I wanted to add them to a Moscow Mule. Frozen seeds will also work in a pinch.

This next recipe might be my all-time favourite! I love to use this sugar-free recipe to make my own apple cider but you can just as easily pick up a pint at your local supermarket. Hot or cold, apple cider is a great beverage to have on hand during the winter months.

Apple Cider Mule

During the winter months, apple cider is aplenty and makes the perfect ingredient for this spicy-sweet drink.
