Total Time 20 minutes
Servings: 18 Scones
Course: Breakfast, Dessert, Snack

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 to 1/2 Cups Sugar Add sugar to taste... more for a dessert scone, less for a savoury scone
  • 3 Tsps Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Cold Butter, Cubed
  • 1 Egg Beaten
  • 2/3 Cup Milk
  • 1 Cup Your Choice! Today, I'm using blueberries.

Method

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir together the ingredients with a fork or whisk to help aerate the flour and create a fluffier scone. I like to aerate after I've already measured out the ingredients.
    Add scone dry ingredients
  2. Cube cold butter.

  3. Cut in the butter using a hand-held pastry blender or your hands. I like using my hands to get the feel of it.

  4. Ensure the flour mixture is grainy once it's all mixed. It's okay to have pea-sized bits visible.
