I have been using Epilady products since I was 16-years-old And for all this time, I’ve been a complete fangirl. Having never been a shaving aficionado, I’ve tried many alternative methods of hair removal but have always returned to my trusted Epilady epilator. So when Epilady asked me to review their Epilady Legend 4, I literally did a happy dance!
If you’re not familiar with how epilators work, they’re essentially small devices that act as many tiny tweezers working together. It’s the same principle as plucking your eyebrows but works on a much larger area of the body, like legs, arms, underarms and bikini lines. There are even epilators specifically designed for use on your face. Hair is removed from below the skin line, very much like waxing, which also a form of epilation.
Let me first tell you why I love epilators in general and then what makes Epilady so great.
Having used the Epilady Classic for so many years, I barely have any hair growth on my legs. And for those areas where I do have growth, it’s usually a few weeks between use. It’s really difficult to say how it will work for you but if you feel stubbly within 24hrs of shaving, it may take a few months before you notice a significant reduction in hair growth but you will likely see some results immediately. This is very similar to waxing except there’s little to no redness after use. Hooray!
Unlike razors, wax strips, chemically-based depilatory products, salon waxing and laser hair removal, epilators are MUCH more cost effective in the long run. You can easily get a decent device for under $100US… so do the math. It just makes sense. Plus, you don’t need to buy anything else like shaving creams or gels and there’s no plastic waste.
There seems to be a misconception that epilators hurt like a m@#@er f@#$#r but I’d say that’s simply not true. If you’ve never used one before, you may experience some discomfort at first but you do get used to it over time. I’ll say this – to thine own self be true. If you tend to cry over paper cuts and generally hate tweezing, then you may find this irritating. But if you’ve ever done waxing of any kind, you’ll hardly notice any major discomfort. Legs are no issue for me, whatsoever. I’ve also used it on my underarms and didn’t have any issues. I have not yet been brave enough to try it out on my bikini line but I’m finding the Legend 4 to be must gentler than the Classic so I’m sure it won’t be long before I try!
EPILADY LEGEND 4
I actually still own my original Epilady Classic device, as seen below! So to say the Legend 4 design was incredible is an understatement. In additional to allllll the benefits above, here are the top features of this little gem:
- Rubber sides that makes it easy to grip and ensure it stays at the proper 90-degree angle. The size also makes it easy to pack and take with me on vacation.
- It’s rechargeable for up to 60-minutes! For me, that’s like 2-3 sessions and I don’t have to be tethered to a wall plug.
- There are two-speeds so I can adjust how fast it goes depending on what part of the body I’m using it and what makes me feel most comfortable.
- It works super fast! Apparently it’s like 32,000 tweezes per minute… wowzie… and the results last weeks for me.
- Works on short hair so you can take care of that pesky regrowth immediately.
- This device can be used on legs, arms, bikini, underarms AND face.
- I trust this brand. They build products to last and have been in the epilator business for decades.
Bottomline: Epilators in general are easy to use, convenient and provide long-term results. I’ve always used the Epilady brand because I truly believe they understand what women are looking for and build products based on what we want and need.
