7 Romance Novel Writers That Will Melt Your Heart

Romance Novels Header

Itching to get your hands on a new romance novel? A pandemic will certainly slow things down and keep people indoors reading. Or perhaps you’re just looking for that next summer beach read! Maybe it’s time to try something new?

I love a Good Romance Novel!

I have always been an unapologetic romance novel enthusiast because when I’m going to spend time reading, I want something different than my everyday life.

Yet somehow, reading romance is often frowned upon. It’s seen as being frivolous and a waste of time. But I’m here to tell you otherwise. Reading romance for me is just plain fun. And yeah, the sex is good too.

But – I do have one caveat that I insist upon – the book must have a strong, independent, woman who do not need a man to “complete her”. I have no interest in books meant to set women’s rights back by centuries. I’m looking for novels where the Princess doesn’t need a Prince Charming but rather finds a man who supports and compliments her. And yeah, the sex should be good too 😉

Looking for that Next Great Romance Novel?

So if you’re already a romance novel reader, that’s great! And if you’re not, maybe this is a good time to give it a good try. Here are some of my personal favourite writers and their books I enjoy most. I’m certainly not saying every one of these series will appeal to everyone, but look at it as an introduction to these authors, and I’ll be as honest as I can be in my assessment. In every respect, these novels will give you some much needed fun and dare I say, a whole lot of spice.

Karina Halle

I have been a long-time fan of this author and have read most all of her romance novels (she also has a horror series I recent devoured). Like any relationship, you never forget your first, and that’s certainly true here. While I’ve loved every single book I’ve read by this author, if she’s new to you, I’d recommend starting with this series. The Artists Trilogy by Karina Halle has it all… con artists, mafia, sexy tattoo artists and drug lords. It’s a wild ride.

Lauren Blakely

Chances are, I’ll never catch up on all of this author’s books. She’s a force of a writer and always has something new for her readers. The Always Satisfied series by Lauren Blakely seems to be a cult favourite so it’s a good place to start with this writer and her swoon-worthy reads.

S.C. Stephens

I first fell in love with this series years ago and have read it a few times because the chemistry between the two main characters was palpable. But The Thoughtless series by S.C. Stephens does contain cheating themes and a main character that many people want to shake. If you were not a fan of the Fifty Shades or Twilight series, then this one might not be for you. If you did enjoy those…. then immediately put this one on your list!

J.A. Redmerski

The Edge of Never series by J.A. Redmerski broke my heart and elevated my soul. Seriously, I ugly cried during this one. There is pain, and redemption, and sorrow, and all those other emotions that will grip you from beginning to end. I’ve just convinced myself to re-read this series and so should you.

Christina Lauren

While the other series I’ve mentioned up to now may be steamy, the Beautiful Bastard series from writing duo Christina Lauren is downright hot. Their more recent books, while a lot more tame and “realistic”, are excellent as well and I’ve read them all. But this series is unabashedly sexy and a whole lot of fun.

Lauren Lowe

Similarly to the first author on my list, this author has a huge catalog that can keep you busy and entertained for a very, very long time. The Morgan Brothers series by Lauren Rowe is pretty awesome, with each brother featured in a way that still makes these books standalone but connected. She weaves their stories together amazingly well so that you still get updates on all of them in each book. I love that. I also enjoy the spin-off series she’s done and am currently reading the latest. This book family is pretty darn great.

Tina Reber

Although this series is a decade old, I haven’t seen very much else from this author. But, the Love series by Tina Reber is so rom-com sweet and sexy that I didn’t want to leave it off the list. It’s kind of like watching a Hallmark movie but you get to see what happens after that first kiss. You’ll eat it up.

I could keep going with more suggestions but if I do that, this blog post will turn into a romance novel itself! But let me know if you’d like some more in the comments below and I’ll pull together another list soon.

Hopefully, these quarantine romance novel reads will turn into beach-reads for you soon. Fingers crossed! Until then, stay safe and be healthy.

xoxo, Mary
