Coats & Jackets for Spring – It’s Time!

Coats and Jackets for Spring

I am so excited that the weather is finally changing and warmer days are ahead. The only trepidation I have about these changing temperatures is that I never know which coats to wear!!!

Days start out cold but then turn warm. It’s windy and rainy outside but in the car it gets toasty. Sometimes my outfits need a long jacket, sometimes short.

Spring is definitely the season I rely heavily on outerwear. So I visited some of my favourite brands and pulled together different pieces in various styles to share with you. Is there one here you’re going to order immediately? Let me know in the comments below!

Wool-Blend Coats

There’s nothing better than a wool-blend coat to keep you warm on days when the wind is still biting-cold. But in spring, you can get away with brighter colours and wrap styles much more easily than in fall. I love the pink tone on this H&M wool-blend coat with a tie front. Super cute and a great colour on just about everyone.

Vegan Leather Moto Jackets

Moto jackets continue to appear through spring and they’re a great way to add some spunk to any outfit. Personally, I love wearing a fitted leather jacket over skirts and dresses but I’m not a huge fan of real leather. This Vegan Leather Jacket from Banana Republic is light and cruelty-free. I especially love that the asymmetrical zipper isn’t so slanted that the jacket doesn’t sit right when worn open.

A Twist on Classic Trench Coats

If you’re like me, you probably already have a at least one classic trench in your closet (and if you don’t, check out this one!). But how adorable is this floral, modern take on a classic from Aritizia! I absolutely love the bright-coloured flowers and white base. It would look super adorable on jeans.

Jean Jackets – A Must For All

Jean jackets are a must-have staple in every closet. Period. They go with everything and can be dressed up-or-down depending on your need. Add a pretty scarf and you’re ready for a night out. It’s also perfect for those grab-and-go moments. This spring, I’m loving this simple, Distressed Boyfriend Denim Jacket from Old Navy. I find this is the coat I wear most often.

Vests are Jackets Too!

I used to have this weird relationship with vests because I was convinced they’d be cold and not really suitable. But I couldn’t have been more wrong! Vests are actually a great way to keep your body warm when you have long sleeves on and they really change-up an outfit. The Textured Inverted Collar Vest from Zara is a great length and has enough weight in the fabric to keep you warm and stylish.
