The holiday season is upon us and I don’t know about you, but I’m super excited about decorating this year!! Maybe it’s because I couldn’t decorate for fall & halloween because of some work we were having done at the house. Or maybe it’s because there are SO many cool decorating ideas out there!
Gone are the days of the typical red & green theme as your only option. This year’s trends scream colour and style. Let’s have a look…
Tartan & Buffalo Plaid For The Win
Last year allllll my Christmas decorations were destroyed and I had to start over. I decided to keep to my favourite red and whites, buying heavy knits and fur-lined accessories. This year, I took that up a notch and added plaids, which I’m loving!
It’s been super easy to find pieces that incorporated well with what I already had. I also found inspiration in some decor ideas posted by @cozycostal. How adorable is this bench space?!?
It’s a White Christmas Indeed
I have a vision in my head that when my kids are grown and gone (not too soon I hope), I’ll revamp my entire house in crisp whites. That includes holiday decor, of course! When I see the beauty that @house.become.home put together, I’m completely smitten. Flocked Christmas Trees – those with a dusting of snow like the one pictured here – are also a HUGE trend this year and simply gorgeous.
I’m Tickled Pink
I was seeing A LOT of pink when I visited the St. Jacobs Market this year and fell in love with on particular outdoor display. If you’re not quite ready to go all-out on this trend in your home, you can easily add some pink details like this stunning wreath from @vintage.charms. I would have a really hard time putting this away after the holidays!
Vintage Charm
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, it would be hard to miss the vintage charm making it’s way into holiday accessories this season. Let’s call this a Hallmark moment 😉 But wherever it came from, there’s no denying how completely adorable old-time trailers, trucks and cars can be. These ornaments from @260broadwayboutique give me all the feels. Also check out this unique wreath from @babamwreaths, which is next level cuteness!
Spreading the Love
Whoever said holiday decorating had to be relegated to the main rooms in your home? A little bit of holiday cheer in the bedroom is a great way to wake up in the spirit, every day! I’m in love with this space created by @homehydrangea and will definitely be adding some bedroom accents to this year’s holiday budget.

love the article, specially vintage decor
Thanks for the feedback! This was my first “decor” piece so perhaps I’ll try to do more.
And yes, I loved the vintage too!
